What an adventure, details coming soon
My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in Cost Rica. My lifelong adventure partner and I once again embraced the some question marks on our travels and came out with some great stories! First of all the people of Costa Rica were so pleasant that we felt welcomed everywhere we went.
We flew into the capital, San Jose and used anywhere.com to arrange a shuttle to La Fortuna in advance. This was great have in place since we arrived in San Jose at 8pm, then embarked upon our journey to La Fortuna, completing our trip at midnight. We woke to a spectacular view of the Arenal volcano from our window as the sun rose illuminating our views.
Day 1 - La Fortuna we participated in some "canyoning" with puretrek.com, they fed us a fantastic lunch, and had top notch support during our adventure. The guides gave clear instruction and made sure all were safe during our excursion.
Day two - we were picked up by a guide at our hotel and went for a walk through the rainforest on the hanging bridges. You could do this tour on your own, but we our guide pointed our some good stuff during our trip, we saw spider monkeys, an eyelash pit viper, and some arborial raccoons.
Day three - We drove across Costa Rica to the Pacific coast, and ended up in Guanacaste.
We ended up spending a couple of days just relaxing. We also took a sailboat trip into the gulf of papagayo on the 43 ft "Soul of the Sea". We did some snorkeling and enjoyed fresh guacamole as we sailed back to our beach hotel.
We flew out of Liberia back home!
